✶ ATHLETE Q&A

LENNOX Arslanagić - Linebacker

Q: What was your reaction to winning?A: Honestly... I wasn't that shocked this is probably my 2nd time winning a Hex Bowl, but our team did pretty well with me and Azzar's leadership!Q: How do you balance academics, extracurriculars, and campus life?A: Well- You could say I have that more than "balanced."Q: Any advice for new Spartans?A: The world is 100%, YOUR oyster, take advantage of that before it's too late.

Amélie Gémeaux - Middle blocker

Q: What first got you into volleyball?A: I have always been the more "mischievous twin" between me and my brother, so that obviously made our parents want to put me in some type of sport.Q: How do you prepare before a game?A: Music, stretching, and a lot of talking. I’m usually laughing with my teammates until the last few minutes, then I flip the switch and lock in.Q: Any advice for future Spartans who want to play volleyball?A: Be confident and don’t overthink. Play loud, trust your instincts, and have fun with it. Volleyball is way better when you let your personality show!

Buck Taurens - Swimmer

Q: When did you first start swimming, and what pulled you into the sport?A: I started when I was six. My mom put me in lessons and I never really stopped. I liked that swimming was quiet but competitive. It’s just you, the water, and how hard you’re willing to work.Q: What does a typical training week look like for you?A: Early mornings, long sets, lots of endurance work. It’s repetitive, but I like structure. The grind doesn’t scare me.Q: What advice would you give to future Spartans who want to swim for FSAU?A: Be patient with yourself. Progress doesn’t happen overnight, but if you stay consistent, it shows. Trust the work.
